A week ago, developer 343 Industries announced the presence of playlists Coming for Halo Infinite multiplayer. in a message on reddit The studio has now provided more details about that and gamers won’t have to wait long.
Halo Infinite will receive a new update next Tuesday, December 14. This will add four new playlists to the multiplayer. The new playlists are Slayer, Fiesta, FFA and Tactical Slayer (SWAT). 343 Industries says the standard variant of Slayer will now be added first, but the studio is also working on variations of this playlist. They will be released in the future.
In addition to the new playlists, next week’s update will also bring changes to the challenges. Some challenges that were blocked in certain modes will be removed from Halo Infinite, but there will also be new challenges dedicated to upcoming playlists. Hey everyone – Last weekend, I said I’d be back as soon as we had updates to share about the near-term playlist plans for Halo Infinite. I am happy to report that the Slayer playlist has been officially locked and uploaded for the update next week. Four new playlists: Slayer, Fiesta, FFA, and Tactical Slayer (SWAT) will be added via a services update on Tuesday, December 14.
As I noted last week, the team’s original plans for the Slayer playlist included a variety of new variants that weren’t ready in time for release before the holiday break. To address player feedback on Slayer in the near term, we will be releasing the base Slayer view to get started and will look to enhance and expand it with more variants in a future update.
Next week’s update will also include tweaks to the challenges including removing some frustrations for modes, reducing some requirements for others, making the weekly challenge less intense (getting there hard enough), and adding new challenges specific to new playlists. Personally, I’m eager to check out the new challenge category that relies on player points accumulation (a small initial step toward “performance-based XP”). We’ll have more details to share on Halo Waypoint next week.
Finally, on a semi-related note – please be aware that the team is aware of reports of intermittent hiccups affecting some BTB players over the past few days and is actively investigating them. In addition, the team continues to review the matchmaking of the ranks and players’ reactions about possible anomalies.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed constructive comments and submitted support tickets for the issues you encounter! More is coming. I wish you a nice week-end!
