What will Hein Vanhisbrouck do next year? His contract with KAA Gent expires at the end of the season.
Hein Vanhaezebrouck won the Raymond Goethals Trophy this week. In the interview that followed the award presentation, the coach spoke about his future with the Buffaloes.
“There was already a reference, in the form of a conversation,” Vanhaysbrouck addresses the topic in more depth in Het Laatste Nieuws. “But it is not concrete yet and it is not necessary for me.”
The current situation means that things do not have to happen too quickly, according to Vanhaysbrouck. “This club is evolving, we are in a transformation. What will happen? It is difficult to predict. At a moment like this you have to stay calm, think carefully, prepare things and make the right decision at the right time.”

And Heine wouldn’t be Heine if he also stabbed him a little in the meantime. “It shouldn’t happen so quickly, so quickly. I had it once (at Anderlecht, editor) when everything had to change quickly, so quickly, and I think everyone saw the consequences. I won’t make that mistake again.”
Clearly, the ball is in the club’s court. “If the day comes when they want me to make a decision, we will do it,” Vanhisbrouck concludes.
