“Honor's Galaxy Z Flip 5 competitor will be revealed soon”

Rumor has it that we will get the first part next quarter Flip the phone Honor to see. With the device, the manufacturer wants to compete with brands like Samsung and Motorola.

Honor Magic Flip: not the final name yet?

It's still unknown what Honor's next foldable device will be called, but for now we'll stick with the Honor Magic Flip. A photo of the alleged device has now appeared via a Chinese sensation. It's not entirely clear whether this is an official render or a CGI. We see a foldable phone that bears many similarities to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, among other devices.

Honor Magic Flip Display

The secondary screen on the front has been made as large as possible, something we know from Motorola's foldable device. The two cameras are placed a little differently on the Honor smartphone, namely next to each other. Details are lacking, but it will likely have to do with a main camera and a wide-angle lens.

Another similarity with the Razr 40 Ultra is that the back of the device has a layer of (fake) leather. It is also possible that the Magic Flip will be released in other colours, but we have no information about this. The Magic Flip has reportedly been in the works for two years, and Honor has previously released other devices with a foldable display. However, until now, this has included smartphones that turn into a small tablet, such as the Honor Magic V2.

Winning deal: The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is now up to 658 euros off!

Big battery, other hardware is still unknown

Foldable phones have a major drawback, which is internal space. This is essential for all hardware such as the processor, cameras and of course the battery. However, Honor can still use a 4,500 mAh battery. That's quite large for a foldable phone. For comparison: The Razr 40 Ultra is equipped with a 3,800 mAh battery, and Samsung's Z Flip 5 should run with a 3,700 mAh battery.

What we can expect in terms of processor, memory variants or other functions remains to be seen. The smartphone runs on Android 14 with Honor's proprietary shell. The Magic Flip will be introduced in the second quarter of this year and there seems to be a real chance that it will also appear in Europe.
