American Jacob Chansley, who stormed the Capitol in Washington in January with horns on his head, bear skin and topless, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison. This is ten months less than what the plaintiffs had demanded. With his striking appearance, Chanceley has become a well-known symbol of the “heinous attack on democracy,” according to US media reports.

Chansley, 34, pleaded guilty to disrupting a meeting of the US Parliament. It was a supporter of then-President Donald Trump who stormed the Capitol on January 6. They wanted to prevent Congress from certifying the victory of his opponent, Joe Biden, in the presidential election.
The man, known as the shaman for his striking appearance, left a message to Vice President Mike Pence that read: “It’s only a matter of time. Justice is coming.” The man said he was a supporter of the far-right QAnon movement, which believes members of the American elite are pedophiles. Chansley is said to have given up on the movement. He asked for forgiveness from Trump, to no avail.
Another Capitol Storm has also been punished. For example, a man also received 41 months, the most severe sentence to date, for assaulting a policeman.
