Horse Palace in Belt for sale

Judy Anne Melchior, 38, has put her recently built farm in the town of Pelt up for sale for around €10 million. The daughter of the late Dutch businessman Leon Melchior, she is known as the driving force behind Zangersheide, the thoroughbred stud farm founded by her father in Lanaken.

According to De Rijkste Belgen, Judy Anne is having difficulty keeping the modern knowledge and practice centre for show jumping horses financially healthy, and so the company is on display. The stud farm in Bilt was recently built (by Altez from Oudsbergen) and covers 9 hectares. It has indoor and outdoor arenas, stables, a running track, spacious stables and a separate living area for grooms. A 353 square metre villa is also available.

The Zangersheide family business is managed by the holding companies Aladin and Aladin II. These properties, originally located in Curaçao, were transferred to Lanaken in August 2018. Zangersheide runs, among other things, its own line of stud books for warmbloods, where all horses are given a name beginning with the letter Z. At the end of 2023, Aladin II had a turnover of EUR 108 million.
