It sounds like an odd concept: a furniture chain that’s organizing a festival. But that is exactly what Swedish furniture giant IKEA will do on Thursday, September 16th. concept? Not a festival in a sunny meadow with frosty beer in hand, but a world tour where you actually visit the homes of many artists, DJs, designers, chefs… besides house toursWith all kinds of IKEA items in the spotlight, of course, the IKEA Festival has plenty in store. During the 24-hour festival, you’ll discover the latest IKEA collections for the first time, follow conversations on topics like clean air and circularity and be one of the first to visit the new IKEA Digital Museum.

Anyway, the concept already promises a lot of good, but the festival lineup is promising too. Listen to intimate house concerts and live DJ sets from Masego and DJ Kaytranada, among others. You can also (almost) look inside the studio of well-known designers, such as Ilse Crawford and Virgil Abloh. And from our country there are some names of the party that will lead the festival in the right direction. For example, YouTuber and radio host Average Rob will visit four homes between 9am and 6pm.
What homes you visit, who you cook with, or the music you listen to, is entirely in your hands, because you can choose from no less than ten different “rooms” throughout the day. Do you want to participate? Then write September 16 in your diary. The IKEA Festival starts that day at 8 am and is completely free. All you have to do is go to this website browse!
