Ilya Sutskever, co-founder of and Chief Scientist At OpenAI, he leaves the company. Sutskever previously served on OpenAI’s board of directors and voted to oust then-CEO Sam Altman. He later apologized for this.
Sutskever says He made the decision to leave on his own, after working for the company for almost ten years. He did not give a reason for his departure, but said he would next work on a project that is “very meaningful to me” and that he plans to share more details about it in the future.
The co-founder was a member of OpenAI’s board of directors until the end of last year and contributed to the plan to dismiss Altman. Reuters notes. Days later, he said he regretted his cooperation and called on the board to reappoint Altman. Sutskever stepped down as a board member when Altman returned.
