The shrinking working population due to population aging requires a review of productivity strategies.

Demographic shifts are putting pressure on economic growth and public finances, putting future prosperity at risk.In the news. Countries with large numbers of older people are seeing a faster decline in the working-age population (15 to 64 years) than in the total population size. This is clear from a study conducted by the French Investment Bank natxes.
In the example below, these are Greece, Spain, Poland and Portugal. The purple line represents the total population; The gray line is for the working population (traditionally aged 15-64).
