Jens Schuurmans has a thing for Val di Sol.
Five years ago he flanked winner Mathieu van der Poel on the podium on the short track. Today he felt great again on the same track.
Our compatriot took the lead on the penultimate lap and then split the group. But in the final race, the Shurmans saw world champion Sam Guise and Frenchman Victor Koretzky come out on top.
βThat’s great,β Shurmans smiled afterward. “I have already collected so many wonderful memories here and today I will add one more. Theatre, this is a wonderful thing for me.”
With Pierre de Froidmont (9th), the Belgian finished second in the top ten. The cross country race is scheduled to be held on Sunday.
