Jonas Vengegaard with tattoo (?) training in Mallorca: “He looked very fit”

It’s clear that Jonas Vinggaard is making progress. The Dane recently made his first outdoor trip after a heavy fall in the Tour of the Basque Country, but is currently training again in Mallorca. This is evidenced by a photo posted on social media of the Can Toba café located at the top of the Col de Soller.

“It was great to see cycling great Jonas Vingegaard training at Coll de Sóller today and to see him stop by to say hello to his fans,” the page said. “Great to see him on his bike again! He looked so fit!”

Vingegaard also took a photo with some fans at the top of Sóller. Eye-catching: The photo shows that the two-time Tour winner has a tattoo(?) of a butterfly on his left arm.

France tour?
Vingegaard broke his collarbone and several ribs during a fall in the Tour of the Basque Country on April 4. He also suffered a collapsed lung and bruising of his lungs. He was not released from hospital in Spain until April 16. Three weeks later, he was able to complete his first training kilometer on the road again, in his native Denmark. And now, after another two weeks, he is in Mallorca for a training camp.

“Of course I hope to start in the Tour de France,” he said after his first outdoor Tour in Denmark. “We don’t know yet how my form will develop and how my recovery will continue, but I’m doing everything I can to be at my best out there.” This year’s Tour de France starts on June 29 in Italy. The opening leg starts from Florence to Rimini and immediately includes some climbing.
