Kasper Schmeichel could play his final game for RSC Anderlecht on Sunday. The goalkeeper’s contract expires, but he has not yet made a decision about his future. Or at least: that’s what he claims.
Kasper Schmeichel signed a contract with RSC Anderlecht in September last year. This agreement expires next Sunday after the match that will be held at Antwerp Stadium. There is an option to add an additional year, but after that all parties must agree.
READ: Anderlecht will have to pay at least double to keep Schmeichel. The 37-year-old Dane currently plays football for €250,000 a month – he wanted to go to the European Championships in Germany via Brussels – but that will not be the case next season.
“I’m not yet worried about my future,” Schmeichel said. latest news. “My full focus is on Anderlecht or the Champions League (Anderlecht relies on Club Brugge and Union SG for tickets, editor.) Can you convince me? You won’t get a title out of me here.” (He laughs)
Nor is the start of the European Championship a deadline for the 100-time Danish international. “First I want to finish the current season. Then I will sit down with Anderlecht to see how things go.”
Who will be the goalkeeper for RSC Anderlecht?
Jesper Friedberg is certainly not sitting still. Rumors see Quinn Casteels as one possibility to succeed Schmeichel. The Red Devil signed a contract with Wolfsburg after the end of the current season. He himself has indicated several times that a contract extension is not an option.
