Journalist Tom Henderson wrote in an article by xfire† Henderson first got on the rumor with a now-deleted Twitter account. This account posted a slew of artwork, including a picture of King Kong hitting a WWII plane and a picture of Godzilla destroying soldiers on the ground. The images caught Henderson’s attention as they were accompanied by two images from Warzone season 2.
Officially, Activision hasn’t announced anything about future Warzone events yet. So it’s still unclear if King Kong and Godzilla will come to Warzone, but the possibility is there. The images may just be an example of how Warzone will handle major events in the future. With this said, he would like to follow the line posted by Fortnite.
Activision has had big plans since its launch in 2020, but it was recently revealed that the current Warzone isn’t ready for the future. That’s why a successor to Warzone is being worked on, which is supposed to release alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 this year. The new version of Warzone is built on a completely new engine.
