Vincent Kompany wants to strengthen Burnley's defense and attack. His team has been at a high level for weeks, but it is clear that an extra level of form is needed to turn those good performances into more points. One eye-catching name is doing the rounds.
Ings heading to Burnley?
According to British media, Kompany would be interested in Danny Ings, just like Wolverhampton. The 31-year-old striker is not getting much time at West Ham United and could be interested in a move to Burnley. Ings will bring a lot of experience to Burnley. He previously played for Burnley, where he scored 43 goals and provided 14 assists in 130 matches.
As a result, he earned a big move to Liverpool. Then he moved to Southampton, Aston Villa and West Ham United. In the Premier League, he has already scored 70 goals and provided 21 assists in 215 matches.
Foster's backup?
Ings would give Burnley some extra leverage. Lyle Foster is performing well for the Clarets, but there is little class behind the former KVC Westerlo striker. Jay Rodriguez also has backup experience, but has not been convincing at Burnley so far. The standard of the Premier League seems too high for him.
Kompany hopes to obtain the necessary reinforcements. Player retention has not been lost yet, but the Clarets no longer have much room for slip-ups.
