KV Kortrijk has already been condemned by many, but beware… after tonight, their fate could be in their hands once again. This was partly due to the failure of RWDM, who never had a chance against Charleroi and lost twice in a row.
Last week, RWDM could already be guaranteed a second place finish and a jump-off match with the winner of the Challenger Pro League playoffs. Losses to Kortrijk and Charleroi mean they now have to look back again.
Kortrijk, if he beats Eupen, can beat them tonight. And then it all comes down to the final day of play. Kortrijk then plays against Charleroi and RWDM against Eupen.
“We are not dead, but we are no longer in control of our own destiny. Whatever the outcome of the Kortrijk-Aubin match on Sunday, we still have one game left, and we have to be present for it,” he put Yannick Ferreira in perspective.
“For the rest, I won’t think of any scenarios about it. I’ve already told my teammates that it won’t be about tactics next week, but about competitiveness. Playing with heart. We’ll really have to stand up.” That area is in Eupen.”
It is clear how it got to this point. RWDM plays like a dead bird. “I know it’s a very stupid answer, but: that’s football. I would or could say it differently, but that’s the way it is. It can go up quickly, but it’s also possible to go down quickly.”
