FamousActress Angelina Jolie, 46, and actor Brad Pitt, 57, have officially separated since 2019, but the problems surrounding custody of their children remain. Pete recently appealed an earlier decision in the trial, but it has now been denied by the California Supreme Court.
Earlier in the trial, the case’s judge, John W. Oderkerk, was sacked over possible connections to Pete’s attorney. This was a huge victory for Jolie, who insists, according to her lawyer, that “the well-being of her children will not be determined by the unethical behavior of the parties involved.” Brad Pitt later appealed this decision, but to no avail. The California Supreme Court declined to hear Pete’s appeal against that decision, declaring online: “Rejection of petition for review and application for adjournment.”
Angelina’s attorney, Robert Olson, was pleased with the current developments: “As confirmed by the California Courts of Appeals, our judiciary prioritizes morals and the best interests of children. No judicial misconduct will be tolerated in order to further the interests of either party. Ms. Jolie is relieved that The family can now continue to work collaboratively.”
The former Hollywood golden couple have been embroiled in a custody battle over their six children: 20-year-old Maddox, 17-year-old Pax, 16-year-old Zahara, 15-year-old Shiloh and 13-year-old Vivian. Knox is 13 years old. Only five minors are subject to a final court decision.
