What pattern will we follow next year?

“In this area, clean, simple lines are still the trend,” explains Sofie De Schepper of DSM Keukens, “including off-the-shelf cabinets and hidden appliances. The kitchen is an extension of the living room and should radiate calm.” Even the door to a storage room, laundry room or utility room is integrated invisibly.

Another popular kitchen builder also offers such an invisible door: Dovy Keukens. Mario Moyle: “In Dovy we also see how rounded organic shapes are. And how lines remain a trend, for example the Japanese style with vertical stripes. Handleless handles remain the norm, but at the same time we see the return of handles, especially in industrial style.

What materials do we choose?

“Natural materials and slatted cabinet doors are very popular,” De Schepper notes. “With a laminate or stone worktop, we give warmth and good texture to the entire kitchen. But in this worktop and the back wall of the kitchen, we also incorporated other natural elements, such as wood, stone and marble.

“Vitrified tiles or natural stone are obviously very popular with us because of the splashback,” continues Moyle. “But also ceramic or marble-look walls. Preferably with vivid veins that can stand out. Or prominently tiled walls for added depth.”

Is a new kitchen not financially feasible? Don’t worry: transform your old kitchen into a new kitchen – brand new – on a budget.

What about colors?

“Colors in the kitchen are sometimes bold, with vibrant shades and eye-catching patterns added to the cabinets,” says Sofie De Schepper of DSM Keukens. “For example, green is very popular today. At DSM Keukens you can get a kitchen in all RAL colours.”

“Natural colors are very popular for creating a relaxing atmosphere,” says Mario Moyle of Dovy Keukens. “Think earth or wood tones: from soft sand to walnut to dark brown wood tones. And green: especially soft green, olive green, and eucalyptus green. But also brighter colors, like apricot and green. Clients often combine colors: Eucalyptus with wood, combinations of bold shades, earth tones or tones (subtle variations within the same color family).Today, the worktop is beige instead of black.

What are wardrobes in fashion?

“Wrought iron display cabinets are becoming trendy again,” notes Moyle. “Glass in your kitchen provides light, transparency and depth. It makes a smaller kitchen appear larger. In a dark-colored kitchen, glass softens and enhances the kitchen. Niches are also popular. Niche space provides additional space, an extra look and an elegant touch. Additionally, we see a growing demand for doors Tanks with vertical stripes.

“Open shelves and niches are also very popular at DSM Keukens, as are wrought-iron glass cabinets,” says De Schepper. “You can then display your crockery and glassware, which today are often very beautiful and fit into the kitchen.”

Is the work environment important to you? Limit walking distance: This is how you organize your kitchen areas in a practical way.

Last but not least: What about the job?

The kitchen is of course more than just a place to cook. Sophie de Schipper: “Today it is also a social space, where you come together, relax and sometimes work. We are increasingly incorporating an office into the kitchen. Or we are furnishing other rooms in the house, such as dressing rooms, or even entire interiors, so that the style continues. “

“Feel free to talk about a hybrid kitchen, where we cook, work, study, relax and socialize together. But we are also seeing the rise of the healthy kitchen,” concludes Mario Muel. “A place where people want to come home and feel comfortable, characterized by calm materials, with a Zen look in colors Zen. Fine cuisine with a relaxing spa feel.”
