TVIn “De Kemping” we see how Tijs Vanneste (42) began setting up a camping site with nine vulnerable youths with all kinds of problems. He tries to give them a nudge in the right direction. Participant Louka (24 years old) succeeded, because he decided to completely change his life: he registered himself after the recordings.
Luke has struggled with addiction for six years. His father had serious problems with his son’s sexual orientation and he died at a young age, leaving Luke much exhausting. “Because I didn’t know how to stay with myself before, I started smoking cannabis to calm down. It worked effectively. But eventually I started using more and more and couldn’t stop,” he told Heat Newspaper.
“The program became a turning point in my life,” says Luke. “While recording last summer, I thought all addictions were under control, but that turned out to be not the case. I caused problems there and that was the last straw for me. Thanks to conversations with Tijs, I took steps to address my problems. I am currently staying at a center.” For addictions and behavioral problems. I no longer feel suicidal or chaotic, I no longer have a negative attitude towards life and I regain the strength to make something out of my life. “
Louka is currently admitted voluntarily for a period of seven months. “I stay here day and night, and I won’t leave immediately,” he says. “I asked if I could stay a little longer, until mid-June.”
De Kemping every Thursday at 8:35 pm.
