Manchester United plans to expand. The club wants a new chief executive and has turned to city rivals Manchester City for this purpose.
Manchester United is searching for a new CEO to succeed Richard Arnold. He decided to leave after INEOS bought a 25% stake in the club.
At Citi, Omar Berrada currently holds the position of CEO. He's clearly doing very well there, given the successes he's had on and off the field with the Citizens.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Perrada has already signed for Manchester United and will leave City immediately. He will have complete control of football and business.
Manchester City have already confirmed his departure to The Athletic. “Manchester City Football Club can confirm that Omar Berrada has resigned from City Football Group. The club understands his decision to seek a new challenge and leaves with our thanks and best wishes.”
