French national radios are now deep in Flanders
We start this wonderful week with the nice DAB+ message that we have been looking forward to for several weeks. Since noon, the French Nationals (Metropolitan) muxes M1 (Block 8B) and M2 (Block 8C) have been on the air from Lille (Lille, via the Fort de Mons transmission tower, Picture above). These two groups contain together The 26 nationally licensed radio products. A few days ago, all channels in Valenciennes were turned on. In Lille, both mocs have a good radiated power of 10 kW with their antennas facing north-east, i.e. directly towards Flanders. You will find theoretical transport patterns Here (M1) And Here (m2). This means that a fairly decent mobile phone range (in car, 50 dBm) is possible in almost all of West Flanders, as well as East Flanders, and certainly as far as Ghent. In fixed locations, with an external antenna and an almost unobstructed view towards Lille, the signal can be picked up as far as Antwerp and Mechelen. To clarify: radio amateur Hermann Venants receives both muxes in Tremello without any problems. The opposite would have surprised us. Meanwhile, canals were also put into operation at Cambrai. The official start was announced on 29 and 30 November.
