Microsoft intends to invest €4 billion in its data center infrastructure in France in the coming years. The American technology company will expand two existing data centers and establish a new data center in the country.
Microsoft writes In a press release Nearly 25,000 new advanced GPUs will be delivered by the end of 2025 to enhance France’s existing cloud and AI infrastructure. The company will also expand the existing data center infrastructure in Paris and Marseille, and create a new data center in the Grand Est region, in the northeast of the country.
This is the largest investment by an American technology company in France. Through these investments, Microsoft wants to accelerate the adoption of AI technology in France, enhance the country’s competitiveness and support the economy. The company focuses on the needs of the public and private sectors and also has a program to support startups in the field of artificial intelligence.
Microsoft is also interested in renewable energy. The company wants all its operations to be fully powered by renewable energy by the end of 2025. By the end of this year, the company should be able to generate 100 megawatts of electricity in France.
