Microsoft will not remove developer mode on Xbox. The company’s program director confirmed this on Twitter. This week, rumors swirled that Microsoft might discontinue the mode and its software after deleting some accounts.
Notably, on Xbox Series S and X, players can use this mode to use the console as an emulator. For this they had to pay a one-time amount of about twenty euros to register with Microsoft as a developer. Professional game developers and fans of vintage games, for example, have done this.
