This fall, Flanders and the Netherlands will join VTM and SBS6 in the most controversial missions of the year: the hunt for a new K3. After Koen Wauters in 2009 and Niels Destadsbader in 2015, this time only Kürt Rogiers will be responsible for introducing “K2 Seeks K3”. He does this with fellow Dutchman Tooske Ragas.
The fact that Klasji’s successor does not have to be a girl is not the only innovation made in K2 Seeks K3. The show gets even more exciting thanks to a surprising twist on the jury. Because even before the nominees are in front of the 100-person jury, they first have to face a professional jury that separately assesses their vocals and performances. On the Flemish side, the jury consists of Natalia and Ingborg, of Holland, the illustrious Gordon and singer Samantha Stenwick.
“The new K3 will also be the K3 that Bobbi-Loua will grow on”
A jury can only hear auditions but not, and a jury only sees the performance, but cannot hear it. With that too, ‘K2 Seeks K3′ comes as a surprise. Natalia and Samantha form a jury to hear and judge only the candidates’ voice and singing talents. So they rule blindly. On the jury, Injburg and Gordon rely only on their eyes.
They don’t listen to the tests, but rather judge the performance and K3 factor of the candidates. Only when the four jury members are positive about a candidate can they go to the public jury. 100 random Flemish and Dutch people of all ages decide who can go to the studio shows. Because there is only a place for the best K3s.
Natalia: “I am delighted to be a part of the jury.” K2 Seeks K3 “is a contest with a guaranteed career path. The new K3 will also be the K3 that Bobbi-Loua will grow with. This is also a nice idea that I’m really looking forward to!”
