The series between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks was the only first-round confrontation that culminated in the decisive seventh game. In the previous six matches, the home team had not been able to win once.
With their backs on the wall, the Clippers did on Sunday. Thanks to, among other things, strong Kawhi Leonard (28 points), the home team won 126-111. The Clippers can now compete in the second round against the top seed of the regular competition, the Utah Jazz.
For the Dallas Mavericks, the season ended after a defeat. However, star superstar Luka Doncic did everything in his power to help his team win. The young Slovenian scored 46 points and provided 14 assists and 7 rebounds, but that was not enough.
Despite the defeat, Doncic was praised, but was strict with himself afterwards. “I haven’t proven anything yet. We’ve already played playoffs with me twice, but we also lost twice. I paid to win and we didn’t,” he remained sober.
While Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks had to pack their bags, Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks got off to a great start in their series against Philadelphia. In the second round of the Eastern Conference, the Hawks won the 76ers’ visit: 124-128.
With the hosts, Joel Embiid is back with him after missing a match due to a knee injury. The tall quarterback was a good 39 points, but the star of the evening was Trae Young.
The Atlanta goalkeeper scored 25 out of 35 points in the first half, laying the foundation for his team’s victory.
