The management committee of Nelissen Steenfabrieken is now complete with the recent appointment of Ronald Wijnant as Production Director. The former Production Manager of Sappi Lanaken is responsible for the day-to-day management of production activities within the Lanaken family company.
The closure of Sabi was a huge blow to Ronald, but in the meantime he is very happy with his new position within the Nielsen management committee. “Although the closure of Sappi is disappointing after my long career with the company, I am very excited to strengthen the Nelissen family. I look forward to a great collaboration,” says Ronald.
There is also excitement on Nelissen's part about the arrival of the new production manager, who brings with him at least 35 years of production experience. Bert Nielsen – one of the three CEOs along with Carlos Jörrisen and Guiri Gevers – is happy with this new wind within the company and confidently transfers part of his duties to Ronald. “I have been responsible for the day-to-day management of all our production activities for more than 30 years. From now on, this role will be reserved for Ronald. I am sure that our production is in good hands with him,” says Bert.
Focus on sustainability Bert will of course remain active within the company, but as CEO he will primarily focus on the sustainable energy transition and achieving climate goals. Bert is assisted by Paul Seno. Paul, previously Director of Operations, now takes on the role of Sustainability Director and, together with Bert, focuses on future-oriented sustainable plans and projects.
