Jordan Rakey is back in the spotlight today as he returns with new music. His roots are in New Zealand and Australia, but he has been living in London for several years now. From the British metropolis he has steadily won the hearts of indie fans with four albums. His last throw We call it life Starting in 2021, he presented at Ancien Belgique and the following year at Bookelpop. Although an album isn’t planned until spring 2024, his absence won’t be felt for long. He opens the new chapter with a lot of soul and feeling with the single “Flowers”.
“Flowers” definitely feels like the start of something new from the very first notes. The edited piano, followed closely by some solid percussion work, immediately places us as listeners. The glue that makes it a beautiful whole is the soulful and loving voice of Jordan Ragay, who delivers the song with warmth. With the first chorus, a guitar and some strings tie the whole thing together and “flowers” bloom majestically. In the song, Jordan Rakey expresses and sums up the feeling he had when he first met his wife. A tribute to his first love is more beautiful than a bouquet from a gas station. Jordan Ragai captivates in “Flowers” as only he can.
