Ankoub Test examined a number of sunscreens in the laboratory and came to the conclusion that a number of products did not provide adequate protection. This also includes Nivea Sun Kids Ultra Protect & Play SPF 50+.
“We completely disagree with the publication of the Ancube test,” Nivea said. “We have tested all our Nivea Sun formulations and their Sun Protection Factor (SPF) extensively according to international standard testing methods and numerous independent tests have shown that the products achieved a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value above 50.”
Confusing to consumers
“Based on this independently validated data from recognized laboratories and our comprehensive quality standards, we have arrived at results that are inconsistent with the results of Aankoop’s testing. The safety of our Nivea Sun products is very important to us. We find it very concerning that the results differ “Aankoop tested our results and realize this is very confusing for the consumer.”
“Since we strongly disagree with the Test-Aankoop test results, we demand transparency about the testing method and call on Test-Aankoop to jointly come up with an unambiguous method for the entire product category.”
Croidfat
Kruidvat also previously responded to the test results, because the Kruidvat Solait Hydra 24h Sunmilk SPF 50 sun cream was also tested.
