PropertyThings appear to be improving for Norwegian King Harald, 87, who was hospitalized in Malaysia earlier this week due to an infection. This was stated by his son, Crown Prince Haakon (50 years old), in a conversation with reporters on Wednesday. The Norwegian court then announced that the monarch would remain in hospital “for a few more days.”
Haakon said, according to Reuters news agency: “We spoke with my mother and father this morning. It seems that his health has improved a little.” According to the Crown Prince, the 87-year-old king will remain in the hospital for a few more days to recover. “He needs to rest. But it's good that he's doing better.”
The Norwegian court then issued a statement. “The King’s personal physician is in Langkawi and confirms that he is recovering from his injury. His Majesty the King is receiving good care in hospital and receiving appropriate treatment,” the palace said.
On Tuesday, the Norwegian court announced that Harald fell ill while on vacation in Malaysia. The court said that no decision had yet been made regarding his return to Norway. The Norwegian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is currently providing “practical support”.
