A beta version of “Truth Social” was posted online on Thursday, and just hours later, hackers were able to report their victory on Twitter that they had managed to take over the accounts of “donaldtrump” and “mikepence” (for former Vice President Mike Pence).

On Wednesday, Trump announced the launch of a new media network – The Trump group for media and technology or TMTG. Trump said it also includes a new social media platform called “Truth Social” in order to “counter the tyranny of the big tech companies.” The former US president was banned from using social media such as Twitter and Facebook after the storming of the Capitol on January 6.
