Happy meeting Kawthar, who was able to present her morning show with Peter van de Veer for a while. In the podcast, Kawthar and Robin ask the radio maker all about this. For example, they ask if Peter will participate in the next season of “The Masked Singer.”
“They asked me about the first season at the time, but it didn’t work out because I didn’t like the mix,” Peter admits. “I also had to adapt to the second season, but I had some time for the third season. So I confirmed: I will participate this year.”
Anyone who followed Season 3 of “The Masked Singer” knows that Peter van de Veer was not on the show. The presenter provides text and explanation of the places that keep going wrong.
“At the end of summer 2022, we at VRT reported that ‘Eurosong’ would be back, that I would once again work exclusively for VRT TV and Radio and that I would be presenting a morning show on Radio 2,” Peter begins his story.
“A week later, my manager received a phone call from the makers of ‘The Masked Singer’ informing me that I wouldn’t be able to take part after all, because I would already be presenting ‘Eurosong’ and would be heard on Radio 2,” says Peter.
A decision that VRT regrets to this day. Not least because he was approached three times by the filmmakers themselves about getting involved in the ratings cannon. “Now they don’t have to ask me anymore,” Peter concludes.
