Phenom Armand Duplantis improves his world record to 6.24m at the Diamond League in Xiamen

Armand Duplantis has proven once again that he is a crazy phenomenon. At the Xiamen Diamond League meet in China, the first of the season, he broke his own world record by one centimeter. The new record height is now 6.24 metres.

Talk about an entrance! Armand “Mondo” Duplantis immediately put in a great performance in the first Diamond League of the season.

The Swede cleared 6.24 meters on his first attempt in Xiamen, thus breaking his own world record in the pole vault. This is the eighth time he has set a world record in his name.

His previous record was 6.23 metres, one centimeter lower. He set this up in Eugene last September.

The world star is now enjoying an excellent start to the Olympic season. His training partner and compatriot Ben Broeders finished in sixth place, with a distance of only 5.42 metres.
