A photo of the motherboard Intel Z690 from Gigabyte appeared on the Internet. The Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 supports the upcoming Intel Alder Lake processors and has four M.2 slots.
This unannounced Gigabyte motherboard is published by Twitter user HXL I noticed before Video Cards. It’s the first picture of the Z690 motherboard and its LGA1700 socket. The images show a tray package with the specifications of the motherboard.
DDR4 memory support is specifically covered in the motherboard product name. Intel Corporation Previously announced Alder Lake desktop processors will support both DDR4 and DDR5 memory. Something similar was also done with the Skylake generation from Intel, which supported DDR3 and DDR4. Gigabyte may also come with the DDR5 variant of the Z690 Aorus Elite motherboard, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Moreover, the images show that the motherboard has one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the video card, and it has four M.2 slots with a PCIe interface. The Z690 motherboard also features a VRM design with 16 + 1 + 2 phases and support for Wi-Fi 6. The Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 also appears to have nine USB-A and USB-C ports, as well as an HDMI and DisplayPort connector. It is not known what the motherboard will cost.
Intel is expected to release the Z690 chipset and the first Alder Lake processors on November 4. An official announcement and pre-orders are expected a week in advance.
