The Milwaukee-Portland game was special because it was Damian Lillard’s first game against the club where he was the superstar for 11 seasons.
Lillard moved from the Blazers to the Bucks this summer in a huge trade that also included the transfer of Toumani Kamara from Phoenix to Portland. The Belgian was given a mission on Sunday to silence the former boss of the Blazers fans.
And Kamara did it more than well, because Lillard had a free, anonymous first half and his teammates also had a good time. Furthermore, Kamara also did his homework offensively, making two three-pointers.
The young Portland Colts initially imposed a high tempo on slow-playing Milwaukee, which at one point in the game found itself trailing by 26 points.
But then sand got into the machine in Portland and the Milwaukee engine ran out of speed. Toumani Kamara was then on the bench for a while due to fouls and would ultimately not return to the field.
The Belgian had to watch from the sidelines as Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo led their team to victory, thanks to a 33-14 run in the final quarter. Antetokounmpo was the team’s top scorer with 33 points, while Lillard scored 31 points against his former team.
In the match between the champion and San Antonio, Nikola Jokic was able to achieve his best this season with 39 points. He added 11 rebounds and 9 assists, just shy of a triple-double.
For the visitors, French teenager Victor Wimpanyama became the first rookie with these impressive numbers: 22 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 blocks in 24 minutes.
Denver has won 8-0 at home, while on the road they have recently lost 4 of their 5 games. Tottenham’s scoreless streak is the third longest in the club’s history. In the period 1988-1989, their number reached 13, and in the period 2022-2023, their number reached 16.
