“Yes, negotiations are underway, but these are all words, nothing specific has been mentioned yet,” Zelensky said.
There is also talk of the alleged withdrawal from Kyiv and Chernihiv, about the alleged reduction of the activity of the occupiers in those directions. But we know that this is not a withdrawal, but the result of defensive action.”
He added that Russian forces are gathering in the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine to launch new attacks. “We are preparing for it. We do not believe anyone and there are certainly no fancy verbal structures. The situation on the battlefield is real.”
The President emphasized that the most important thing is that Ukraine does not give up. “We will fight for every meter of our land, for every person.”
He also asked the Ukrainians not to criticize the performance of the troops. He said that anyone who thinks he knows how to defeat our enemy should go to the battlefield by himself rather than hanging on the sofa at home.
The Kremlin also said on Wednesday that there were no significant breakthroughs in talks with Ukraine. According to spokesman Dmitry Peskov, there is still much work to be done.
