PropertyAs of this week, Prince Joachim, 29-year-old son of Princess Astrid (58) and Archduke Lorenz of Austria-Este (65), has obtained a diploma from the prestigious Harvard University. And he is by no means the only serious worker in his family: all of his brothers and sisters have a testimony to tell you. Favoritism? Absolutely not, it turns out. The Prince is simply an example for the new generation of royals, who have no choice but to work hard. “They just don’t want to sit in a red armchair anymore.”

The fact that Prince Joachim is trained at Harvard Business School in Boston, USA, fits perfectly with the new generation of royals. Over the past fifteen or twenty years, we’ve seen a real shift in this area within the royal family. For example, King Philip is the first crown prince not to receive a special education. Prince Laurent then attended Zevenkerken Abbey School and later also Midwestern University in the United States. Something that, according to Cathy Bowles, wasn’t well received, by the way. “He often called his parents at the time because he was so lonely.”
