Punishment: A global logistics company adds 10,000 square meters of halls in Genk

The international group Neovia Logistics Services will have an additional 10,000 square meters of space in Genk. The order was given to Genk Green Logistics, the company founded by Group Machiels (Hasselt) and Intervest with the aim of completely reusing the former Ford site in Genk and turning it into a new logistics point.

In August 2021, Genk Green Logistics entered into a lease agreement with US company Neovia Logistics Services for a unit of more than 10,000 m2, with mezzanine facilities of 1,000 m2 and 500 m2 of offices at the former Ford site in Genk. This building was successfully completed in 2022 and is now bustling with activity. Even to the extent that Neovia now wants to build an additional 9,600 sqm warehouse and 571 sqm of offices. Genk Green Logistics took action immediately and expects to complete the new building by the end of this year. In addition, the long-term lease of the first facilities has already been renewed.

143,000 of the 250,000 square meters of logistics space at the former Ford site has already been filled by Genk Green Logistics. At this rate, it won't be long before the entire factory area gets a new, future-oriented destination.
