Radio host Sven Ornelis has opened a pop-up restaurant in Ghent, but you can only order at Deliveroo | Ghent

GentSven Ornlis (47) has always dreamed of opening his own restaurant. Yesterday his dream came true: he opened a popup where you can order dishes like oriental fish balls and Thai vol-au-vent. They are prepared in Ghent Gulzig’s kitchen and can only be ordered via Deliveroo.

Out of a love for cooking, radio host Sven Ornelis started a food blog four years ago: Would Be Chef. He shares all sorts of recipes that he himself invented, which at the same time won him thousands of followers. He also created two cooking books, which brought him one step closer to his dream. Yesterday it was finally fulfilled: he opened his pop-up restaurant.

Because Ornelis lives in Lochristi, he chose Ghent as his base. “I’ve been sharing recipes with thousands of followers on my food blog for years, and I also enjoy organizing dinners for friends and family. But opening a restaurant was another challenge.” To fulfill his dream, Ornelis has turned to Deliveroo and Ghent Gulzig Restaurant in Baudelokaai. The Gulzig chef will prepare the Ornelis dishes and Deliveroo will be the only platform where they can be ordered.

no sooner said than done. Since yesterday, you can order eight Ornelis dishes via Deliveroo: Burrata with Cherry Tomatoes, Oriental Fish Balls, Thai Bean or Fint, Italian Fish Burger, Indian Curry, Chicken Linguini, Lemon Mascarpone and Vanilla Pudding. “The top score recipe is on my blog and at the same time my personal favorites, because they are so full of flavor.” The popup will run for another three months.
