Real Madrid’s mission was simple. Beat Real Betis to get close to fellow Atletico and get out of Barcelona. Real Betis are having a very good season and are sixth. A place that prepares you to play European football.

It was raining cats and dogs in Madrid, and this did not help the match. Most of the chances were for Real, but there was no registration. Contrary to the weather, the first half ended in a dry 0-0.

Real Betis insisted that there was something to pick up in Madrid and continued the attack. He had a number of good chances and Courtois had to intervene well on a rebound from Real Betis.
