Brian Reimer has a problem on the left. Both wingers are unavailable for the match against Antwerp. Thorgan Hazard is still unable to kick the ball, while Francis Amuzu has suffered a setback.
Thorgan’s problem is now starting to drag on for the long haul. “Look, I’m not hiding anything. I’m very transparent about the situation. We’ve only done 200 more checks and there’s no danger. He took a hard knock on his knee and still can’t kick. He’s strong and I think he’ll be there against Genk.”
His first replacement, Francis Amuzu, has not yet arrived. “He’s had a little setback. We’ve solved his problem (with surgery, editor). But he still has to get used to the new way his body works. He feels little things when he reaches his top speed. And that’s because it’s so important for for him”.
Amuzu is currently very important to Rimmer, because he is truly the only one who has pure speed at his core. Against top teams, Rimmer doesn’t have anyone else besides Raman. “And this is still about the striker. Against teams that put a lot of pressure on us, we have to use the space behind the lines. That’s why Francis is so important.”
Should this be resolved during the winter Mercato? “I think with our budget it will be difficult to find a better player with more qualities than Amuzu. In the long term I’m thinking about Nelson Angulo, who is performing well in Futures. Will it be before January or next summer? We’ll see. But he has the ability.”
