Well-known insider Dusk Golem, also known as Aestheticgamer, posted a new rumor about Resident Evil 9 on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Dusk Golem, which often provides information about publisher Capcom’s various Resident Evil projects, came out last month with news that the release of the yet-to-be-announced Resident Evil 9 may have been delayed internally. Dusk Golem is back at it now. The insider received new information from his sources.
Resident Evil 9 could not be delayed. In fact, the game will be revealed very soon, perhaps at a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play presentation. Dusk Golem also says that the game is scheduled to be released in early 2025, specifically in January 2025. Development of Resident Evil 9 would have already begun in 2018 after the release of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. The plan was to release this project as Resident Evil 8, but Resident Evil Village, a different project, ended up being the official eighth part. Resident Evil 9 is therefore a very ambitious project and has been in development longer than other games in the series.
“The potential delay that I have heard rumblings about can be set aside,” they said. “Resident Evil 9 should be revealed very soon and will be released next year. And if what I heard earlier is true, [it] It must be in January. It will have taken about seven years to develop.
Dusk Golem has previously indicated that Resident Evil 9 will feature open world elements and will run on the latest version of Capcom’s RE Engine, which also powers the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds game. Capcom hasn’t officially announced Resident Evil 9 yet, but take the Dusk Golem rumor with a grain of salt for now.
