Review: Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen

It was released in June of this year Final Fantasy XVI As can be read in our review, the game left us with mixed feelings. Pretty great cast, but a boring (also well-acted) main character. Epic battles, but little challenge. In our opinion, the game was missing something when it was released: a dangerous so-called “endgame dungeon.” A place full of the most difficult monsters that can be faced by the end of the game FinalFantasy To test your skills. Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen, the DLC available now, appears to add that endgame dungeon. How do you like this?

Clive and his companions arrive at the beginning of the film Echoes of the Fallen A few dark crystals collected by miners, but no one knows where. If you’ve played the game, you know that a new crystal means new problems for Clive, so he goes to investigate. Soon we reach a tower that appears to be alive and fight our way to the core. In terms of story, nothing special: not much happens and it’s basically an excuse to add a few bosses to the game, with an old acquaintance at the helm of it all: Omega.

So the pace is high and you can complete the fairly short DLC in about one and a half to two hours. It may seem easy, but your opinion of the DLC will be the same as your opinion of the rest of the game. There’s nothing in the DLC that stands apart from the rest Final Fantasy XVI: There are a few new enemies, including these bosses, but no new systems or abilities that offer a new way to play.

Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of Fallen Omega

The bosses are great in style, and compared to the base game they are on the difficult side of the spectrum. If you found the game too easy before you played the DLC, you will Echoes of the Fallen There is still a challenge that remains elusive. Omega in particular was another epic battle, but half the time we were watching Clive’s Super Saiyan attacks take up half the screen. We could still have ten attacks in a row and use potions non-stop and never get close to mortal danger.

Echoes of the Fallen It’s basically more of the same, but with new bosses to fight. Seems like almost two hours Final Fantasy XVI-Work as something you feel like doing? So the DLC is definitely worth it. Were you hoping for more? Then it may be better to wait The rising tide, the second part of downloadable content (DLC) that will be released in the fall of 2024 and will be larger. Square Enix calls it an “expansion” rather than a piece of downloadable content (DLC).

Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen is available now for PlayStation 5.
