WAALWIJK – Oskar Zawada is the newest addition to RKC Waalwijk. The 28-year-old striker arrived on a free transfer from Wellington Phoenix and signed a contract at Walvis until mid-2026.

Zawada began his professional football career in Germany, where he progressed through the youth academy of VFL Wolfsburg. In the 2015/2016 season he moved to FC Twente on loan, where he played eleven games in the Eredivisie. Zawada then ended up in the Australian A-League with Karlsruher SC, several clubs in Poland and a trip to Korea. Zawada made a big impact at the Wellington Phoenix Stadium in New Zealand. He was also named Player of the Year for the 2022/2023 season. In two seasons in New Zealand, the striker scored 22 goals in 40 appearances in the national competition.

Zawada: “After successful years in New Zealand, I am ready for a new sporting challenge and RKC Waalwijk is a great step for me. I have shown in the A-League that I can be of value to the team as a striker with goals. My desire is to prove this in the Eredivisie as well.

Technical Director Mo Allach is excited about the new addition. “We are delighted that we have been able to bring Oscar to Valverde. Following the departure of David Min, we have been able to add a striker to our selection. We are taking the next step in filling our front line with his experience and qualities.
