celebritiesRod Stewart (79 years old) believes that some young artists care more about fame than making good music. “It was different in my time,” the rock singer told The Times. He also attacks Ed Sheeran. “This old redhead…”
“We didn't know where the music would take us at the time,” Stewart says. “The record companies were different too. The people who came with me, like Elton John and the Rolling Stones, made music because they loved it.” Stewart believes that money and fame played no role at that time. “It was really about the ambition to sing.” The singer believes that it is different today. “Now people are releasing music trying to get rich. Fame trumps everything. All these young people want is fame.”
When talking about his favorite songs of all time and whether there are any “timeless” songs released that will still be played 50 years from now, the music icon didn't hold back. “I think uh—what's his name again?—cute,” Stewart says. “He's British, really talented and his songs will definitely live on.” When the interviewer mentions Ed Sheeran, he immediately becomes angry: “No, not Ed Sheeran. I don't know any of his songs. 'This Old Redhead…'” after Rod sings a few verses of “Shotgun” himself and mentions singer George Ezra, said excitedly: “That's it! I think he writes really great songs. “It will continue for a while.”
