musicRyan Gosling hints at his Oscars appearance. The 43-year-old Canadian actor told W Magazine that there is a possibility he will sing his song from the Barbie movie – “I'm Just Ken” – at the ceremony on March 10.
Ryan Gosling is shortlisted for 'Original Song' with 'I'm Just Ken' from Greta Gerwig's film. Which means he has a chance to be nominated for an Oscar with his song. When asked if he would sing the song during the prestigious film awards ceremony, he replied: “I have not been asked yet. I haven't thought about it yet, but now that's all I'll think about. The actor, who plays Ken in Barbie, continued sarcastically: “Do you get paid to sing at the Oscars? And do you have to drive yourself?”
Gosling's song was a huge hit. The song has now been listened to more than 70 million times on Spotify, has reached the US Billboard Hot 100, received a Grammy nomination and is therefore also in the running for an Oscar.
Oscar nominations are scheduled to be announced on January 23. Barbie appears most frequently on shortlists with five entries. It's not just Gosling's song from the film that's on the shortlist. And also other songs like Dua Lipa's “Dance The Night” and “What Are You Made For?” By Billie Eilish You have a chance to win an Oscar nomination in the Original Song category.
