film“Madame Web's not as bad as I heard. It's much worse.” Director SJ Clarkson's new film is receiving scathing responses from film critics around the world. What's striking: Even lead actress Dakota Johnson (34) isn't a fan of the movie. During Saturday Night Live, the actress joked about the project, saying, “It's as if artificial intelligence created this project for men.”

look. Dakota Johnson: “I rarely like my movies.”
Sony has been trying for years to create its own movie universe separate from Marvel Studios, which is part of Disney. But with “Madame Web,” the company completely misses the mark. The film received a rating of only 13% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 3.8/10 on IMDB. Critics' criticism is merciless. “'Madame Web' isn't as bad as I heard. It's worse than that,” Rolling Stone wrote. The New York Times calls the film's story “ridiculous” and finds the dialogue “utterly laughable.” “This is an inept attempt at a New character. “The story is incoherent and extremely stupid,” says The Guardian. The Independent concluded, “The film is desperate and seems ashamed of itself.” There's also a lot of criticism about Spider-Man not appearing in the movie. This was not possible thanks to complex contracts between Sony and Disney.
Dakota Johnson's acting performance has been praised here and there. She takes on the role of Cassandra Webb, a Manhattan paramedic with supernatural powers. This way she can see and anticipate different scenarios to avoid the villain Ezekiel Sims (a Spider-Man clone with bad intentions). Forced to confront revelations about her past, Webb forms a relationship with three young women (Sydney Sweeney, Isabella Merced, and Celeste O'Connor) who have a strong future.

Not fun
However, Johnson is not completely satisfied with the final result of “Madame Web.” This was clearly demonstrated during the promotional tour for the film. For example, she admits that she doesn't like Marvel stories. “I didn't know Madame Web at all. I had also seen very few of those superhero movies. In addition, the actress found it very difficult to act in scenes that required the addition of many visual effects: «It was almost psychotic! Whether anything could be good.
She also believes the filmmakers handled the story safely. “Safety is boring,” she thinks. During Saturday Night Live, the actress made a joke about the story. “The film appears to have been compiled by artificial intelligence for the male viewer.” This part has now gone viral on social media.
