The Israel Start-Up Nation made a little revolution last winter when it became the first-ever WorldTour Team to hire a sports director with Cherie Pridham. After one season, it is already looking for other venues, as it will switch to Lotto Soudal in 2022. “I certainly wasn’t looking to lead a Belgian team, but when the Lotto Soudal project was presented to me, I was immediately blown away,” she said in a press release. “I have been racing often in Belgium and know how much cycling is for Belgians. I am not afraid, I am ready to make a positive contribution to the future of the team.”
Team Leader John Lelangue is also looking forward to collaborating. It’s like “I’ve only heard good things about her”. “After our first conversation, I was instantly satisfied. She was by far the best athletic director. Whether you’re male or female, it doesn’t matter at all what the job is. Sherri is first and foremost a sports director, not a sports director. Sherri is exactly the person we need” .
Bridham knows the tricks of the peloton trade, as she herself has been a professional racer for 15 years. During her career she competed in the Tour de France eight times and Giro Rosa twice.
