American singer Billie Joe Thomas “BJ”, known for his classic “Raindrops Keep Fallin ‘On My Head”, has died at the age of 78 from lung cancer. US media, including entertainment site TMZ, reported this Saturday, citing the Thomas administration.
BJ Thomas had a big break with “Raindrops Keep Fallin ‘On My Head” – the soundtrack to “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” – but also earlier recorded the love song “Hooked on a Feeling” Over a million songs sold Individual.
He also sang the title song for the TV series “Growing Pains”. The singer has had other hit songs such as “Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song”, “Rock and Roll Lullaby”, “I Just Can’t Help Believing” and “Whatever Happened to Old-Fashion Love”.
In March 2021, BJ Thomas announced on his Facebook page that he had lung cancer. He was receiving treatment in a hospital in Texas, but died more than two months later at his home in Arlington, Texas. The singer leaves behind a wife and three daughters.
