Light at the end of the pirate tunnel.
Ubisoft talked about the upcoming hacker game for the first time in a long time skull and bones† In its latest financial statement to shareholders, the French company said it is pleased with the development and that the game is likely to be released in the next fiscal year, i.e. before the end of March 2023.
Skull and Bones was announced in 2017 as a full-fledged pirate game based on the naval combat in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Development is currently in the hands of Ubisoft Singapore, but doubts have been around the game for a long time due to the lack of new information and several personnel changes.
The latest news goes back to 2020. Then it was rumored that Skull and Bones would be getting a reboot with a live service model. We will know whether or not this is the case within a year at the latest.
During the report, Ubisoft also had no good news. After all, game sales are down 31% in the past year. Far Cry 6 and Rider’s Republic both appear to have underperformed the previous year’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion.
Ubisoft wants to pick itself up next year. In addition to Skull and Bones, the company also hopes to do well for The Settlers, Rainbow Six: Extract in a Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok.
