There are currently 420 beds immediately available to accommodate Ukrainians now arriving in the Netherlands. This is much more than it has been recently. The registration point in Utrecht will remain closed.
The Ministry of Justice and Security published the latest figures on Friday. These relate to the situation last weekend. The emergency shelters at that time had 90,980 beds, of which 90,560 were in use. This equates to an occupancy rate of 99.8 percent.
Compared to the previous week, 130 new beds became available. The number of “beds in use” decreased by 120. It is not known where these people went.
Jaarbeurs in Utrecht has a central reception site for Ukrainian refugees, the so-called Centre. It's full, and the front door is closed at the moment. The RAI registration point in Amsterdam was previously closed.

The safety zone is not very optimistic about the number of places
Due to the new numbers, the Ukraine Center in Garbor will not open again yet. To this end, the Utrecht safety zone first wants to have a “realistic perspective in enough places in the country,” says its spokesman. For now, she is not very optimistic: “There is hardly any possibility of new sites in the next month. Some sites will be added, but others will be closed again.”
The safety zone also wants the places people go to provide long-term shelter. The spokesman explains that this means not having emergency shelters for week-long crises in a gymnasium, for example, but locations such as schools or offices where people can stay longer. The country's municipalities were therefore asked to use space as efficiently as possible. “If there are one or two people somewhere who are a good fit, we would love to hear about it.”
