Sniffler Cian Uijtdebroeks puts wasting time in perspective: “If this is my bad day, I’m satisfied”

The cough at the start this afternoon has already shown that Cian Uijtdebroeks has not escaped the germs riding in the peloton in Italy.

On the final climb today, the best young man was not the newest classified man in the group.

“Today I probably didn’t feel 100 percent. It’s a bit common in the peloton.”

What is the diagnosis? “We don’t have to say much about that,” Uijtdebroeks still cheerfully chuckles. “Everyone is coughing and sniffling.”

“I might have a little problem with my airway, but it shouldn’t be a big deal.”

“Everyone experiences that on a big tour. You always have bad moments, and if today was that day, it wouldn’t be so bad.”
