Software Update: LameXP 4.21 – PC – Downloads

LameXP logo (79px)LameXP version 4.21 has been released. LameXP is an open source user interface for Windows that allows converting audio files. Contrary to what the name suggests, it can not only read and write Lame MP3, but also Ogg Vorbis, Opus, AAC/MP4, FLAC, AC-3, Wave Audio, and much more. All codecs are integrated into the software, except for AAC, which can be added via a separate download. The change log for this release can be found below.

Changes between version 4.20 and version 4.21:

  • The build environment has been upgraded to Microsoft Visual Studio 2019.11 (MSVC 16.11)
  • The Windows SDK version has been updated to 10.0.19041.0
  • LAME encoder updated to version 3.101 Beta-3 (12/15/2023), compiled with ICL 2023.2 and MSVC 16.11
  • Updated Opus encryption/decryption libraries to version 1.4+9 (2023-11-03) and Opus tools to version 0.2+34 (2023-11-12)
  • Monkey's audio binary has been updated to version 10.38 (12-22-2023), compiled with ICL 2024.0 and MSVC 16.11.
  • FLAC encoder/decoder updated to version 1.4.3 (06/23/2023), compiled with ICL 2024.0 and MSVC 16.11
  • MPG123 decoder updated to version 1.32.3 (02/10/2023), bundled with gcc version 13.2.0
  • MediaInfo has been updated to version 23.11 (11/30/2023), compiled with ICL 2023.2 and MSVC 16.11
  • cURL updated to version 8.5.0 (06/12/2023), with libcurl v8.5.0 and OpenSSL v1.1.1w
  • QAAC Add-in (separate download) updated to QAAC v2.80 (2023-07-05), bundled with ICL 2024.0 and MSVC 16.11
  • ALAC decoder updated to refalac v1.80 (2023-07-05), bundled with ICL 2024.0 and MSVC 16.11
  • Added option to disable icon in notification area (now disabled by default)
  • Update language files
